James E. Cecchi, a partner at Carella Byrne, will bring a different perspective to our upcoming panel discussion on regulatory class actions. Cecchi is a plaintiffs’ attorney who has served as counsel in many important consumer class action decisions.

 

Cases representative of Cecchi’s work include: Marvin Simon, et. al v. KPMG LLP, et. al, a class action suit where Carella, Byrne, serving as co-counsel for the class achieved a settlement of $200,000,000; In re Vytorin/Zetia Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation, a multidistrict litigation where Carella, Byrne, serving as Co-Lead Counsel, achieved a settlement of $41,500,000; Sampang, et. al v. AT&T Mobility LLC, et. al, a class action where Carella, Byrne, serving as co-class counsel, achieved a settlement of $18,000,000; and  Milliron v. T-Mobile, a class action where Carella, Byrne, serving as co-class counsel, achieved a settlement of $12,500,000.

 

Cecchi will join Archis Parasharami, a partner at Mayer Brown; and Gavin Rooney, a partner at Lowenstein Sandler, on stage at our September 18 conference. The three of them will engage in a discussion, moderated by Shalom Stone, of Brown, Moskowitz & Kallen, on the rise in regulatory enforcement cases filed as class actions.
