New Jersey Is A “Judicial Hellhole”
The American Tort Reform Association has released its annual “Judicial Hellholes” report, and New Jersey is near the top of its list. ATRA notes that our state’s consumer protection laws are far from mainstream, and our court system is becoming hostile to arbitration agreements, in direct contravention of federal law.

Comments on Federal Anti-Arbitration Rules Due Aug. 22
Last May, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau released its proposed rules regulating arbitration. Although arbitration has been shown to be just as fair as litigation, with the added bonus of being quicker and more cost-effective, the proposed rules seek to limit the availability and use of non-judicial methods of dispute resolution.
